• Infringing on intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademark, or patent violations
• Engaging in fraud, identity theft, or financial crimes
• Distributing malware, viruses, or other harmful software

2.2 Academic Dishonesty

• Submitting AI-generated or humanized content as your own original work in academic settings where such use is prohibited
• Violating your institution's academic integrity policies
• Using the Service to complete assignments, exams, or dissertations in violation of academic guidelines
• Bypassing plagiarism detection systems to deceive educators or institutions

Note: Always check with your educational institution regarding their policies on AI-assisted writing tools before use.

2.3 Harmful or Offensive Content

• Creating content that promotes violence, terrorism, or extremism
• Generating hate speech, discriminatory content, or content that harasses individuals or groups
• Producing content that exploits, abuses, or endangers children
• Creating sexually explicit or pornographic content involving minors
• Generating content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders

2.4 Deceptive Practices

• Creating fake news, misinformation, or deliberately false content
• Generating content for phishing, scams, or fraudulent schemes
• Impersonating individuals, organizations, or entities
• Creating deceptive product reviews or testimonials
• Manipulating public opinion through coordinated inauthentic behavior

2.5 Spam and Abuse

• Generating bulk spam content for email, social media, or other platforms
• Creating content for unsolicited commercial messages
• Abusing the Service through excessive automated requests or scraping
• Attempting to circumvent usage limits or security measures
• Reselling or redistributing the Service without authorization

2.6 Privacy Violations

• Processing or humanizing content containing personal information without proper consent
• Violating data protection laws such as GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations
• Sharing or exposing private information of individuals without authorization
• Creating content that invades someone's privacy

3. Acceptable Uses

Lucidwriter is intended for legitimate and ethical purposes, including but not limited to:

• Refining AI-assisted drafts for blog posts, articles, and content marketing
• Improving the naturalness of business communications and professional documents
• Enhancing creative writing projects, stories, and scripts
• Polishing marketing copy, product descriptions, and advertising content
• Editing and improving your own original writing for better readability
• Creating social media content that engages your audience
• Developing educational materials and training content (where permitted)

4. Enforcement and Consequences

We take violations of this Policy seriously. If we determine that you have violated this Policy, we may take the following actions:

• Issue a warning and request immediate cessation
• Temporarily suspend your account
• Permanently terminate your account without refund
• Report illegal activities to law enforcement authorities
• Take legal action to recover damages or seek injunctive relief

The severity of the enforcement action will depend on the nature and severity of the violation, as well as your history with the Service.

5. Monitoring and Detection

While we respect your privacy, we reserve the right to:

• Monitor usage patterns to detect potential policy violations
• Investigate reports of misuse from users or third parties
• Use automated systems to flag potentially prohibited content
• Review flagged content to determine if violations have occurred

We do not routinely review user content, but we will investigate when we have reason to believe a violation has occurred.

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violations of this Policy, please report them immediately to our Trust and Safety team at abuse@lucidwriter.app. Include as much detail as possible, including:

• Description of the violation
• Account information (if known)
• Evidence or examples of the prohibited activity
• Date and time of the incident

All reports will be investigated promptly and confidentially.

7. User Responsibility

As a user of Lucidwriter, you are responsible for:

• Ensuring your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations
• Understanding and following the policies of platforms where you publish content
• Verifying that your use complies with your employer's or institution's policies
• Properly attributing AI-assisted content when required by law or policy
• Maintaining the security of your account and preventing unauthorized access

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or service offerings. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
